Arizona's monsoon season can bring much-needed rain, but it also creates hazardous driving conditions.

Blinding dust storms, slick roads, and reduced visibility can make even short drives dangerous if your vehicle isn’t prepared.

At CarLife Auto Repair, we care about keeping you and your family safe on the road. Here are our top monsoon-season car care tips to help you drive with confidence. 🌧️🛞

1. Replace Wiper Blades

🧽 Monsoon downpours can arrive suddenly, and old or cracked wiper blades simply can’t keep up. If your wipers are streaking, squeaking, or leaving spots untouched, it’s time to replace them. In Arizona, extreme heat wears out rubber faster, so we recommend replacing blades every 6-12 months.

2. Check Tire Tread and Pressure 🛞

Your tires are your first line of defense against hydroplaning. Worn-out tread reduces grip on wet pavement, and under-inflated tires can increase your stopping distance. Make sure your tires have at least 4/32” of tread and are inflated to the proper PSI for your vehicle.

3. Inspect All Exterior Lights 💡

Visibility is crucial during a storm. Test your headlights, brake lights, and turn signals regularly. If you drive through heavy rain or dust storms with faulty lighting, you put yourself and others at risk. Bonus: clean cloudy or yellowed headlights for better illumination.

4. Watch for Warning Lights 🚨

Moisture can aggravate existing electrical or engine issues. If your check engine light, ABS, or other warning lights appear, don’t ignore them. Have your vehicle scanned and diagnosed before a minor issue turns into a major repair.

5. Avoid Driving Through Standing Water

🌊 It may be tempting to push through a flooded intersection, but just a few inches of water can stall your engine or damage your electrical systems. If you can’t see the road, don’t risk it.

✅ Schedule a Monsoon Readiness Check Today 🛠️

If you’re unsure whether your vehicle is storm-ready, CarLife Auto Repair is here to help. From tires and wipers to brakes and diagnostics, we’ll give your car a full seasonal checkup so you can hit the road safely.
